4 Day Kakadu and Katherine 4WD Safari - Katherine
Darwin hotel picks up and then we travel to Fog Dam conservation reserve, which is great for birdwatching. We enter Kakadu and continue to the north of the park to Ubirr, where we view the rock art galleries, which your guide will interpret. After lunch, we travel to the Warradjan Cultural centre for an insight into the cultural history of Kakadu and then board the sunset Yellow Waters cruise. The billabong has a huge range of birdlife as well as estuarine (saltwater) crocodiles.
Overnight in Bush Bungalows.
We go off road to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge) where we take a walk through a paperbark forrest to the gorge, where we have a swim. After lunch, we drive to Nourlangie Rock, where we take an interpretive walk around the site, with your guide explaining the rock art. Finally a look around the Bowali visitors centre.
Overnight in Bush Bungalows
Down to the very south of the park, past termite mounds and onto the dirt road to Gunlom. Here we can swim in the large plungepool at the base of the waterfall or climb to the rockpools at the top, for fantastic views. Drive to Katherine, with a stop for a swim at Edith Falls en-route.
Overnight at our permanent camp
2 hour cruise through Nitmiluk Gorge and a culturel expereince. Lunch at Katherine Hot Springs and then drive back to Darwin.
Arrive in Darwin at approximately 6pm at your hotel.
Tour includes 2 nights accommodation and 1 night in a permanent camp, Kakadu park entry, sunset Yellow waters cruise, 2 hour Nitmiluk Gorge cruise, cultural experience in Katherine and all meals (except day 1 breakfast and day 4 dinner).
